We have long been without a local psychoanalytic body in Singapore that seeks to bring together local and overseas expertise to harness the knowledge we have in one gestalt.  There are many therapists I know who seek a source of nourishment for themselves and through that, to reap benefit for their own patients and clients.  However, most tended to end up high and dry.

There simply isn't sufficient or any kind of psychoanalytic events locally that occur regular enough to foster development and outreach to potentially talented clinicians.  This would as much frustrate, but motivate most of the local talent to seek foreign shores for training and certification.

With the proliferation of psychoanalytic thinking and research into the efficacy and effectiveness of the therapy over the past decade, one versed in the art and craft of psychotherapy can no longer ignore the impact of this method.

Our goal in setting up a non-profit shared space, is such that we can call this ours, and pool our resources for the purposes of learning, and networking amongst other therapists who may be looking to connect as well.

There is much work to be done in setting up a local association, let alone a psychoanalytic association.  Hence, we are keen on forming a team, a committee, whom are like-minded and believe in the good of developing others.

With much luck and patience, it is our hope that our initial efforts may plant some seeds deep in local soil for the harvest later on.
